Italian Wedding Favors – 5 Glorious Ideas
I was extremely happy to receive an invite to a friend’s wedding in Italy. The happy event took place on a beautiful, Italian island not far from Rome one summer’s day a few years ago. The bride and groom were married in an old monastery church high up in the mountains.
The newlyweds each handed out wedding favors at the end of the 10 course wedding meal. Every guest all received around 5 different gifts each.
As the bride’s family was Scottish and the groom’s family were Italian. The wedding party decided to give each guest a wedding favor of espresso cup favors with coffee spoons and servers. The cups and saucers came in a gorgeous love heart shaped boxed which was a delightful red color. Accompanying the cup and saucers was a dainty coffee pot. The three wedding favor gifts were packed inside the box in lovely tissue paper and a wonderful ribbon with a personalised message was attached around the edging.
The coffee spoons also came in a fabulous gift wrapped box. The bride and groom thought this would be an ideal gift for both cultures as nearly everyone loves coffee.
On each dinner plate the hosts lay a fanatic gift of almonds inside sheer net tulle secured with ribbon which had again held a personal message to each guest. The couple thanked each guest for traveling overseas to be with them on their wedding day. Couples can also use Italian wedding candy instead of almonds if they decided they would prefer.
The wedding cake was at least 10 tiers high. Another brilliant idea from the wedding couple was an individual cake placed on each tier. Each guest received a cake as part of their dessert and a wedding favor. Everyone was over the moon with this wonderful gesture and not a crumb was left on any of the plates.
At the beginning of the wedding when everyone arrived, all the guests received a glass of champagne and caviar. During the meal each guest received a number of glasses of wine. The bride and groom thought a good idea would be to place a grapevine wine bottle stopper as the last of the Italian wedding favors given to their guests.
I hope this gives you some help in your search for Italian wedding favor ideas.
